(JUBA) – The Governor of the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Dr Addis Ababa Othow, on Tuesday paid a visit to the institution’s Sports Complex in Juba to inspect preparations for an upcoming friendly basketball match and to encourage staff participation in recreational activities.
The inspection comes as the BoSS Basketball Team continues training for a match against the team from Dar Petroleum Operating Company (D-POC), which is scheduled to take place this Friday.
According to the Bank, the visit is part of a broader initiative to promote staff fitness, teamwork and overall well being.
“The leadership of BoSS believes that maintaining a healthy and active workforce contributes to improved morale and productivity across the institution”, a statement on the bank’s social media platforms read.
Governor Dr Othow interacted with the players, observed training drills, and expressed his support for the team. He underscored the importance of physical wellness as part of a balanced work environment, encouraging staff to continue embracing sports and recreational activities not just for competition but also for health and team building.
“Fitness is not just about sport. It is about discipline, teamwork and resilience. These are values we need in our institutions too,” the Governor told staff during the visit.
