Juba County Opens New Boma and Roads in Luri Payam

(JUBA COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Juba County on Saturday launched the foundation of Yari Gumbiri Boma and presided over the official opening of roads in Yari Gumbiri Village in Luri Payam.

Emmanuel Tete Ezbon said the event marked progress in strengthening local administration and improving service delivery in the area. He commended the Director of Luri Payam and Boma administrators for their work in serving the community. He also praised security forces for maintaining stability and thanked residents for raising concerns about services in the area.

The Commissioner said Yari Gumbiri Boma was demarcated in 2022. He explained that the current exercise focused on the formal opening of roads, which will be followed by plot showing and the laying of the foundation stone for the Boma headquarters.

He urged plot owners to develop their allocated land within the time set out in their allotment letters. He warned residents not to construct buildings on road reserves, saying such actions could disrupt planned development.

The Commissioner also called on communities living along the Juba Mundri Road to cooperate with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan and the Office of the Governor of Central Equatoria State. He said preparations are underway to repair potholes along the highway, with work expected to begin next week.

He encouraged communities to promote unity and peaceful coexistence with neighbouring areas and pledged continued county support for development in Yari Gumbiri.

Monday Yoasa, Assistant Executive Director of Juba County, praised the Commissioner for his leadership. Ezbon Pitia, Director of Luri Payam, urged plot owners to begin developing their land without delay.

Brigadier General Makol Bol Madut, Brigade Commander, described the launch and road opening as a sign of development in Juba County and reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to protect civilians.

County officials, security personnel and community members attended the event.
