Local Church Partners to Deliver Water Project in Luri Payam in Juba

(JUBA COUNTY, CENTRAL EQUATORIA) – The official handover of the Joppa Water Yard project was held in Luri Payam on 23 January 2026, with Mr. Ezbon, Director of Luri Payam, presiding over the ceremony and conveying a message from the Hon. County Commissioner of Juba County.

Mr. Ezbon commended Samaritan’s Purse and the Christian Brotherhood Church for working with the government to complete the project. He urged residents to cooperate, protect the facility, and report any security or criminal activities to local authorities. He also encouraged similar support for other Payams across Juba County.

The Legal Advisor of Juba County called on the community to uphold unity and responsibility, working with the Church and project partners to ensure the water yard is maintained through collective effort and prayer.

Mr. Christian Bester, Country Director of Samaritan’s Purse South Sudan, praised the administration of Luri Payam for its cooperation, which helped complete the project on schedule.

Mr. Clement, Head of the WASH Department in Luri Payam, reaffirmed the Payam’s commitment to supporting water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives to improve community health.
