
Gudele Land Conflict Resolved by Central Equatoria Ministry/PHOTO CREDITS: State Lands Portal
(JUBA) – A land and development dispute between the Nying Community, also known as Juba Na Bari, and the former Directorate of Telecommunications in the Purda (Kugi) Residential Area of Gudele has been resolved. The resolution was reached during a meeting led by Hon. Viato Wani Swaka, Minister of Housing, Land and Public Utilities in Central Equatoria State, on Wednesday, 10 June 2026 in Juba.
During the meeting, community representatives reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful coexistence and welcomed all South Sudanese to live in the area.
The Director of Lands, Eng. Juma Nantana, said the ministry is committed to improving roads, security, and other essential services in the area.
Hon. Viato Wani urged all stakeholders to work together in unity and to ensure that residents can settle peacefully and benefit from development initiatives.
Earlier, on Monday, 1 June 2026, Hon. Viato Wani Swaka met with the Luluggu Village Community of Tokiman West, Rajaf Payam in Juba County. The meeting was held to discuss key issues and challenges affecting the community.
During that meeting, community members congratulated Hon. Viato Wani Swaka on his appointment by the leadership of Central Equatoria State and expressed their confidence in his leadership.
Hon. Viato assured the community of the ministry’s commitment and support in addressing the challenges facing the area. He said cooperation between the government and local communities is important in promoting development and improving service delivery.
The Minister also thanked the community for their warm reception, support, and congratulatory message. He reaffirmed his dedication to serving the interests of the people of Central Equatoria State.
