(KAJO-KEJI COUNTY) – Preparations are underway for the Kajo-Keji Expo 2025, an event aimed at promoting peace, encouraging cultural pride and supporting the return of displaced families to their home area.
The organisers say the event will take place on 26 and 27 December 2025 at Kajo-Keji Freedom Square, also known locally as Mere.
The Kajo-Keji Expo is an annual event and is expected to attract large numbers of participants from within South Sudan and from the diaspora.
The theme for this year is “Together at Home,” which organisers say reflects efforts to rebuild social ties and restore hope among communities who have been displaced by conflict over the years.
The programme will include a range of cultural, sports and entertainment activities. These include football matches, traditional dances, music performances, a tour of notable sites in Kajo-Keji, children’s games, face painting, art and craft exhibitions and a cultural storytelling session.
There will also be food and beverage exhibitions, eating competitions, dancing competitions and a music awards ceremony known as the Kajo-Keji Music Jaja Awards.
Organisers say the event is intended to show the country and those abroad that life in Kajo-Keji is recovering and that families can return to rebuild. They also view the event as a way to strengthen peace and reconciliation efforts by bringing communities together in a positive environment.
The organising committee has called on companies, organisations and individuals to support the event through sponsorship. They have introduced different sponsorship packages which they say will help fund publicity and logistical arrangements. The funds will also support the installation of billboards and promotional materials in both Juba and Kajo-Keji.
The Platinum sponsorship package is set at 2,000 United States dollars, which is equal to about 14 million 200 thousand South Sudanese pounds at the current exchange rate (1 United States dollar is equal to 7,100 South Sudanese pounds).
The Gold package is set at 1,000 United States dollars, equal to about 7 million 100 thousand South Sudanese pounds.
The Silver package is 500 United States dollars, equal to about 3 million 550 thousand South Sudanese pounds.
Sponsors will be featured across the expo’s promotional materials including billboards, posters, radio announcements and digital platforms.
Sponsors may also receive table space at the event, opportunities for brand promotion, interviews ahead of the event and direct engagement with the public at exhibition areas.
Speaking on behalf of the organising committee, founder and chairperson Jame Lo-Ngete said the event is a shared effort to rebuild community confidence. He encouraged businesses to view sponsorship as both social support and an opportunity to connect with citizens and customers.
The organisers are calling on interested partners to contact them through the event coordination office.
