Journalism Training Offered in Western Equatoria State/PRESS RELEASE: Heavens Institute Opens Doors for South Sudan Journalists
(YAMBIO, WESTERN EQUATORIA STATE) – Heavens Institute is offering journalists and aspiring media professionals in Western Equatoria State the chance to enrol in a Diploma in Journalism, Media and Mass Communication Studies, with distance learning available to allow students to study while continuing to work.
According to the Institue, the diploma programme is designed to strengthen reporting, writing, broadcasting and media ethics skills, helping professionals grow in the evolving media landscape.
Journalists across Western Equatoria have been encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity.
Interested candidates can collect application forms through Mr Emmanuel Mandella, Secretary of the Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJoSS) Western Equatoria State Branch.

The application deadline is 15 July 2026.
Heavens Institute is admitting students across multiple schools for the June 2026 intake. Diploma programmes run for three years, while short courses range from one to three months.
A non refundable application fee of 30,000 SSP applies to all diploma programmes. Requirements include a secondary school certificate with passing marks, a nationality certificate and a birthday certificate or age assessment.
Application forms are available at the Wau Campus in Hai Kalvario, as well as in Aweil, Yambio and Rumbek.
