(JUBA) – A major evangelism drive and public cleaning campaign will soon begin across Yei River County, Central Equatoria State.
The initiative is being organised by the African Evangelical Enterprise South Sudan, a non-denominational Christian body. It aims to spread the Christian message while also improving sanitation and environmental health in local communities.
Pastor Alex Aggrey, who represents the organisation, confirmed the plans during a visit to the county commissioner’s office.
He explained that the programme would be rolled out in partnership with local churches. Alongside the mass evangelisation, teams will carry out public cleaning and raise awareness about proper sanitation.
The Pastor asked the local government to support the activities. He said the effort is designed to nurture spiritual life and drive practical community development at the same time.
Commissioner Samuel Henry Malimbo welcomed the move. He praised the organisation for guiding communities toward peace and social responsibility.
He called on all churches in Yei to keep preaching unity and to respect different denominations and faith groups. He also cautioned against actions that could create splits within the Christian community.
Religious leaders thanked the county administration for its continued backing of church activities and evangelisation work in the area.
African Evangelical Enterprise South Sudan operates across the country, working with local congregations to promote evangelisation, community transformation and development, according to a statement released by the County Press Unit.
