(JUBA COUNTY) – Leaders from the Mundari and Lo Bonok communities have expressed support for the reappointment of Emmanuel Adil Anthony as Governor of Central Equatoria State, while also appealing for continued peace and unity in the state.
A delegation made up of community intellectuals, traditional chiefs, youth and women representatives, and politicians met the Governor in Juba on Wednesday. They said they welcomed the decision of President Salva Kiir to return Adil to the post of Governor.
During the meeting, the delegation raised concerns affecting their communities. These included security, education, health services, and roads. They said that although challenges remain, there has been progress in recent months, especially in terms of improved calm and fewer cattle raids. They credited this improvement to the work of the state leadership.
The groups said they are ready to work closely with the Governor to push for more development and to strengthen stability in both Mundari and Lo Bonok areas. They urged continued cooperation among all communities to support peace in Central Equatoria.
Governor Adil thanked the delegation for their trust and support. He said his administration remains committed to addressing the issues raised and to working with all communities. He added that fulfilling the directives of the President on security and unity is a key priority for the state government.
