(TEREKEKA COUNTY) – The government of Central Equatoria State took part in the closing ceremony of the third Mundari Cultural Festival on Sunday.
The Governor of the state, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, was represented at the event by the Deputy Governor, Paulino Lukudu Obede.
During the ceremony, the Deputy Governor praised the Mundari community and all those who took part for making the festival a success.
He said the event was peaceful and showed the strength of the community. He noted that the festival displayed the deep traditions of the Mundari people and helped bring unity to the residents of Central Equatoria and the rest of South Sudan.
Paulino Lukudu Obede said the state government will continue to support cultural events. He explained that these gatherings are important because they allow people to find common ground and build lasting peace.
He also spoke to the younger generation and told them to keep their cultural values alive so they can be passed on in the future.
The Deputy Governor thanked the organizers, the local chiefs, the security teams and their partners for working together to hold the event. He then officially ended the festival and wished everyone a safe trip home.
