(JUBA/LAINYA COUNTY) – The leadership of the Pojulu community has commended President Salva Kiir Mayardit for the reappointment of Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony and reaffirmed its support for his leadership and vision for peace and development in the state.
The Pojulu Community delegation, led by Deputy Chairperson Hon. Lole Laila Lole, met Governor Adil to present a position paper outlining community led initiatives, with a strong focus on the rehabilitation of feeder roads.
The delegation also sought state support to help advance these local efforts, which they described as critical for improving movement, trade and access to services.
In the document presented to the Governor, the community highlighted several challenges affecting their areas. These included limited access to healthcare services, pockets of insecurity in parts of Lainya County, the presence of cattle herders known locally as Ambororo, and the need to improve education infrastructure. The leaders called for timely intervention from the state authorities to address these concerns.
Governor Adil welcomed the engagement and urged the community to continue encouraging armed groups to lay down their weapons and embrace peace under the leadership of President Kiir. He stressed that lasting stability could only be achieved through dialogue, unity and collective commitment to peace.
The Governor also emphasised the importance of working closely with community structures to spread messages of peace and unity, particularly as South Sudan moves towards national elections expected later this year. He assured the delegation that the state government would consider the issues raised and work towards addressing some of the long standing challenges.
During the meeting, the Pojulu community extended congratulations to Governor Adil on his reappointment by the President. They described his leadership as visionary and reaffirmed their support as he continues to guide the state towards sustainable peace and development.
A statement from the Office of the State Governor said the engagement reflects ongoing efforts by communities in Central Equatoria State to actively participate in dialogue with state authorities to align with broader national goals of peace, stability and development in South Sudan.
