Yei Mourns Death of County Administrative Officer

(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – Eunice Araba Na Fox Scopas, the Administrative Officer for Yei River County, has died at Yei Civil Hospital following a long illness. She passed away on 25 June 2026 at 11:00 PM local time.

Her death has been met with mourning across the county and beyond. Colleagues describe her as a dedicated public servant who served in the Ministry of Local Government and Law Enforcement in Central Equatoria State with professionalism, discipline and commitment throughout her career.

The loss is felt not only by her family and clan but also across the wider community and the nation, officials said.

County Commissioner Samuel Henry Malimbo issued a statement extending heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people and government of Yei River County.

He called on the family to remain strong and said the county stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty grants them strength, comfort and courage to bear the painful loss.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
