(JUBA) – The Government of Central Equatoria State has announced the death of Hon Osman Loku Wani, a Member of Parliament representing Terekeka County at the National Legislature, with tributes highlighting his service to the people of South Sudan and his role in public life.
In a condolence message issued from Juba on Saturday, Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony said he received the news of Hon Wani’s passing with deep sadness.
The governor described the late lawmaker as a vocal and committed parliamentarian who worked actively to represent the interests of Central Equatoria State, particularly the people of Terekeka County.
Adil noted that before joining the Revitalised Transitional National Legislative Assembly, Hon Wani served in several key positions at state level.
He previously held the post of State Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism and also worked as a Political Advisor during the period of the former Terekeka State. According to the governor, these roles contributed to his reputation as one of the most recognised political figures in the area.
The governor said Hon Wani’s death has created a significant gap within the state and at national level, given his experience and long involvement in public service.
He added that the late parliamentarian was known for speaking on issues affecting his constituents and engaging in legislative work with commitment.
