Adil Thanks Christians and Calls for Support in Second Term/Office of the Governor Photo
(JUBA) – Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has called on the public to uphold peace, unity and compassion as the festive season approaches.
He also thanked Christians for their support during his first term in office and appealed for continued cooperation as he begins his second term.
Governor Adil made the remarks during a Sunday service at St Theresa’s Cathedral Parish in Kator, where he addressed the congregation. He encouraged citizens to remain hopeful and united despite the current economic difficulties affecting households across South Sudan. He said strong community values are important at a time when many families face rising prices and reduced income.
No monetary figures were mentioned during the event, but the Governor noted that the economic challenges facing many South Sudanese require patience and collective effort as the country moves into the Christmas period.
His Eminence Stephen Ameyu Cardinal Mulla also spoke at the service. He appealed to religious leaders to promote peace and humility in their work.
He reminded the congregation that leadership is a responsibility guided by faith and said power comes from God. The Cardinal praised Governor Adil for what he described as a calm and respectful approach in public functions.
Both leaders encouraged Christians to use the festive season to strengthen unity within families and communities.
They also stressed the value of cooperation between the church, citizens and government as South Sudan continues to recover from years of hardship.
