(JUBA) – Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has praised security agencies and residents for maintaining law and order during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, which passed peacefully across Juba and other parts of the state.
In a statement issued on Friday, the governor said the calm festive period reflected the professionalism of the security forces in carrying out their duties to protect the public.
He noted that no major security incidents were reported during the celebrations, a development he attributed to effective coordination among security organs.
Governor Adil also commended citizens for their cooperation with security personnel, particularly through information sharing. He said public support played a key role in preventing crime and ensuring safety during the busy festive period.
The governor encouraged residents to maintain this level of collaboration as the New Year begins.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to strengthen security and stability under the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit. Governor Adil said efforts to maintain law and order would continue as South Sudan prepares for the general elections expected later in the year.
The governor stressed that peace and security are essential for daily life, economic activity and public confidence. He called on all stakeholders to work together to preserve stability across Central Equatoria State and the country as a whole.
