(JUBA) – The Central Equatoria State Security Committee has recommended measures to strengthen security and stability across the state. The Ordinary meeting was chaired by Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony on Tuesday.
The committee agreed to implement the 2017 Presidential Order requiring all cattle herders to leave the Equatoria region and return to their places of origin.
Officials will regulate the movement of cattle within the state, including those owned by the Ambororo community. Security forces were also directed to continue operations against gang groups in Yei Town to restore public order.
The committee instructed commissioners of six counties, local administrators, and the Mayor of Juba City Council to continue reorganising markets to improve accessibility and service delivery.
Officials also reaffirmed support for a joint committee between the governors of Central Equatoria and Lakes states to address the long standing border conflict between Terekeka and Aweria. The initiative aims to promote peaceful coexistence between communities along the shared border.
The meeting also emphasised the state government’s ongoing efforts to tackle security and infrastructure challenges and urged the public to avoid actions or propaganda that could threaten security or fuel division.
