(JUBA) – Juba Electricity Distribution Company Limited has announced that all its service centres will remain open during the Christmas and New Year holiday period to support households and businesses that depend on reliable electricity supply in the capital.
In a customer notice issued on 24 December 2025, the company said its offices will operate on 24, 25, 26 and 28 December 2025, as well as on 1 January 2026. JEDCO said the decision is aimed at ensuring continuity of services at a time when electricity demand usually rises due to increased household use and extended business activity.
Under the revised holiday arrangement, service centres in Gudele, Munuki, Juba Town and Gumbo Shirkat will open from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon. The Nimra Talata service centre and the company head office will operate for longer hours, from nine in the morning to eight in the evening, to provide additional support to customers who may require assistance later in the day.
The company also confirmed that Saturday, 27 December 2025, will be treated as a normal working day across all service centres. JEDCO said this measure is intended to prevent service disruptions and reduce pressure on customers during the busy festive season.
In addition to physical service points, JEDCO said its toll free customer line 319 and emergency response team will remain available throughout the holidays. These services will operate at all hours to respond to power faults, urgent technical problems and other emergencies related to electricity distribution in Juba.
Electricity reliability is particularly important for businesses during the festive period, when many shops, hotels and service providers extend operating hours to meet higher customer demand. Industry observers say JEDCO’s decision to keep service centres open is likely to benefit small and medium sized businesses, especially in retail, hospitality and food services.
JEDCO operates six service centres across Juba County and remains the main electricity distributor serving the capital. The company said it appreciates the cooperation of its customers and remains committed to maintaining dependable service delivery during public holidays and into the New Year.
JEDCO management also extended festive season greetings to customers and reaffirmed its focus on ensuring stable electricity supply as South Sudan welcomes the New Year.
