Morobo Commissioner Calls for Peace and Reconciliation in 2026
(MOROBO COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Morobo County in Central Equatoria State has called on residents at home and in the diaspora to promote peace, reconciliation, and unity as South Sudan enters 2026.
In an end of year message dated 23 December 2025, Commissioner Charles Data Bullen thanked residents for supporting the county administration throughout what he described as a long and challenging year. He said the past year was marked by both achievements and setbacks, including misunderstandings that at times led to division within the community.
The commissioner urged residents to move beyond past grievances and focus on the positive progress made together. He said unity and cooperation remain essential for the development and stability of Morobo County.
Looking ahead to the New Year, Commissioner Data called for renewed commitment to forgiveness, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence among the people of Morobo, both within South Sudan and those living abroad. He said peace should guide community relations and collective efforts to strengthen harmony across the county.
The commissioner also appealed to opposition forces and other stakeholders to refrain from acts of violence against civilians. He said dialogue and understanding are necessary to end suffering and to allow lasting peace to take root in Morobo County and neighbouring areas.
He stressed that sustained peace is important for social stability, service delivery, and local development, particularly as South Sudan continues efforts to recover from years of conflict.
Commissioner Data concluded by extending festive greetings to residents, wishing them a peaceful and prosperous New Year marked by hope, unity, and progress.
