(KAJO-KEJI / LAINYA ) — Authorities in Kajo-Keji and Lainya Counties have agreed to strengthen joint security efforts along their shared border following a high-level meeting aimed at addressing emerging threats and enhancing stability in the area.
Kajo-Keji County Commissioner, Hon. Wani Jackson Mule and his Lainya counterpart SSPDF commander, Gen. Kenyi Warrior, held a strategic meeting on Monday at the common border, bringing together key security officials from both counties.
The meeting focused on assessing the current security situation and identifying practical measures to improve coordination between security forces operating in the border areas. Leaders emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring peace, stability and the safety of local communities.
Speaking during the engagement, Commissioner Mule reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining strong security and peaceful coexistence with neighboring Lainya County. He stressed that safety is a shared responsibility and urged citizens to actively support security agencies.
“The security and stability of our people remain our top priority. We encourage all residents to work closely with security agencies and report any suspicious movements or activities that may threaten peace in our communities,” Mule said.Kajo-Keji County Area Commander, Gen. Henry Buri Zachariah, highlighted the need for continuous cooperation among security forces, noting that timely communication and intelligence sharing are critical in preventing criminal activities and addressing security challenges. Lainya County area commander Gen. Kenyi Warrior welcomed the collaboration and expressed his commitment to strengthening coordination mechanisms between the two counties. He emphasized the importance of joint monitoring of border areas and rapid response to potential threats. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides pledged to maintain close coordination and enhance intelligence sharing on any unusual activities, including those linked to holdout groups or criminal elements. They also committed to reinforcing joint security operations aimed at protecting civilians and preserving stability. The meeting underscores the growing commitment of leaders and security institutions in Kajo-Keji and Lainya Counties to work together in fostering peace and ensuring a safe environment for their communities.
