(JONGLEI STATE) – Jonglei State Governor, H.E. Dr. Riek Gai Kok, visited Baidit and Jalle Payams today to address local communities on the importance of peace, unity, and preparation for the upcoming general elections.
During the visits, Governor Gai Kok urged citizens not to allow politicians to manipulate them into engaging in conflicts. He cautioned that the intentions of some opposition groups are to create division, but residents must remain committed to maintaining peace in Jonglei.
“We are all children of Jonglei,” the Governor told community members. “Do not let anyone destroy the unity that you have with your neighbours. Let our unity continue and grow stronger.”
The Governor also encouraged communities to begin preparing for the forthcoming elections, emphasising that participation in the democratic process is the most powerful way to protect peace and stability in the state.
According to the Jonglei State Government Press Unit visit is part of ongoing efforts by Jonglei State leadership to foster community cohesion and electoral readiness, recognising that peaceful, informed participation is key to consolidating democracy and reducing local tensions.
