Overview

To strengthen its work in the energy and IT sector, CTG is seeking an ICT Systems Integration Support / Renewable Energy Consultant in South Sudan.
Purpose of the Role
The consultant will ensure the effective operation and maximum uptime of ICT equipment, power systems and server rooms. The role also includes the design, installation and optimisation of renewable energy systems in line with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Maintenance

Install, commission and maintain UPS systems, power inverters and renewable energy systems.

Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro and bioenergy).

Prepare technical documentation, Bills of Materials (BOM) and plan single and three phase cabling.

Troubleshoot and repair systems, ensuring minimum downtime.
Renewable Energy Design & Optimisation

Design or review system layouts and equipment specifications.

Use PVsyst, RETScreen or SAM to evaluate energy performance and recommend improvements.

Monitor renewable energy policies and carbon market developments.

Prepare permit applications and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Provide advice on green certifications such as LEED and BREEAM.
Training & Coordination

Provide product-specific training and operational guidance to clients.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams from concept to commissioning.

Liaise with ICT technicians and support service integration.
Other Duties
-
Maintain updated technical documentation.

Be available to work outside normal hours, including nights, weekends and official holidays.

Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Reporting
The consultant will report directly to the Infrastructure & Power Systems Unit Supervisor.
Key Competencies
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Education | Degree or diploma in electronics, electrical, computer engineering, IT or related field (Master’s in Renewable Energy desirable for expert level). |
| Experience | Minimum 3–8 years of related technical experience depending on seniority level. |
| Certifications | ITIL certification required at expert level; PMP/Prince2 and Autocad experience desirable. |
| Skills | Strong technical knowledge of UPS and renewable energy systems, analytical skills, and knowledge of energy markets and carbon incentives. |
| Languages | Fluent in English (spoken and written). |
| Other | Valid national driving licence and ability to drive manual vehicle. Experience in South Sudan is an advantage. |
