Residents Praise Yei Commissioner for Road Rehabilitation

(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – Some residents of Yei Town have commended Yei River County Commissioner Samuel Henry Malimbo for spearheading public infrastructure rehabilitation projects aimed at improving roads and movement within the town.

Residents say they are pleased with the ongoing road works and support what they describe as people-centered leadership. They expressed optimism that the development projects will improve transportation and encourage further investments in the town’s infrastructure.

Charles Batali, a resident of Lomuku One, welcomed the grading of a previously damaged section near Yerdan Stream, which had made movement difficult for both pedestrians and motorists.

“I am happy because the street from Yerdan to Gemtel is now okey and we are happy because the commissioner is working for the people of Yei.”

Mary Fosia, another resident, also praised the road rehabilitation works, saying the improvements have made the area more accessible.

“I am happy because the Gemtel street is now clean I want him to also work on some of the bad roads in Yei town so as to improve movement and reduce the rate of accidents in the town.”

Meanwhile, Baba Joseph thanked the commissioner for rehabilitating the Lomuku-Gemtel road, describing the intervention as a response to long-standing public concerns.

“The roads have been bad in Yei town and this is a good start and we want more of this road works extended to all the major roads in the town so as to improve the image of the town and make movement easy for the public.”

The residents urged the county government to continue expanding road rehabilitation efforts to other parts of Yei Town to improve mobility, enhance safety, and boost the town’s image.
