New Press Secretary Announced for Yei River County

(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Yei River County has named Joshua Amabe Aguma as the new Press Secretary for the local government.

Commissioner Emmanuel Taban Seme announced the change on Monday in Yei. Mr Aguma takes over the role from Christopher Taharir, who held the position for one year.

During the announcement, Commissioner Seme thanked Mr Taharir for the work he did during his time in office.

The Commissioner told the new secretary to cooperate with the county media team and other partners. He said this is necessary to make sure the public receives news that is fast, correct, and fair.

The Commissioner also spoke about the need for high standards in government communications. He told the new appointee to focus on being professional and open when sharing official information.

He also noted that anyone working in this role must follow the rules of honesty and truth that are expected in journalism.

The local government office did not list a specific budget for the press unit during the announcement.
