(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – A weekly town cleaning campaign has been launched in Yei, led by Atlabara Football Club, with the next session set for Saturday 11 July 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Atlabara FC Management thanked every individual, youth, community member, player, supporter and well wisher who took part in the first Keep Yei Clean Campaign. The club said the turnout showed that together the community can create positive change.
The club stressed that the activity was not just for Atlabara FC but for everyone who calls Yei home. A clean town benefits all residents, the management said, and no single organisation can achieve this alone. It requires the participation and commitment of every resident.
The club called on young people to lead by example and show that community service is a shared responsibility. It invited everyone to join the next cleaning session in even greater numbers.
The Yei River County Youth Association issued a separate statement of appreciation to Atlabara Football Club for launching the campaign. The association described the initiative as commendable and one that demonstrates responsibility, community spirit and commitment to a healthier environment.
The youth body encouraged the club to continue the work and inspire more young people to take part in keeping the town clean. It said a clean Yei is a shared responsibility, adding that together the community can build a healthier, safer and more beautiful place for everyone. The association stated that the cleanliness of the town lies in the hands of its residents.
