CES Caretaker Governor Jadalla Urges Commissioners to Prioritise Peace and Election Readiness

(JUBA) -The Caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, General Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, has directed caretaker county commissioners to prioritise peace, security, unity, and electoral preparedness as they return to their respective counties.

Addressing the commissioners ahead of their deployment, Governor Jadalla urged them to effectively deliver on their mandates and engage holdout groups to abandon violence and embrace the presidential amnesty for peaceful reintegration into their communities.

The Governor also called for a unified approach to address cattle-related conflicts within Central Equatoria and neighbouring states, saying the issue continues to affect peace and stability across the region.

On land issues, Jadalla instructed county authorities to take firm action against land grabbing, describing it as a persistent challenge that must be brought to an end.

He further encouraged commissioners to promote agricultural production as a key strategy for improving food security while strengthening ongoing efforts in peacebuilding and reconciliation as the country prepares for elections.

Governor Jadalla also directed local government structures to intensify public awareness and mobilisation ahead of the national elections scheduled for 22nd December 2026, and called for unity among county leaders in advancing peace, security, and development.

In support of economic recovery, he urged the rollout of cooperative societies across the counties and encouraged border counties to strengthen relations with neighbouring Ugandan authorities to promote good neighbourliness and prevent land disputes.

Responding to the directives, the caretaker commissioners pledged to work collectively to address community challenges and implement the state’s development agenda.

The directives come at a critical moment as Central Equatoria State seeks to tackle local challenges while preparing for the upcoming national elections.
