
Terekeka Commissioner Meets Youth Over Clan Violence/PHOTO CREDITS: County Press
(TEREKEKA COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Terekeka County, Hon Dr Emmanuel Loku Lodu, has met the County Youth Office to discuss recent violence between the Yari and Kongi clans.
The meeting took place in Terekeka on Monday 23 February 2026. The Youth Office briefed the Commissioner on steps taken to calm tensions and seek a peaceful settlement between the two communities.
County Youth Office Chairman Marko Majack said the group had begun consultations aimed at stopping the fighting and restoring calm.
He described the clashes as brutal and senseless and said the youth leadership was committed to finding a lasting solution, despite the challenges involved.
“We have started looking for a solution. Although it seems difficult, we are determined to find a way to end this,” Majack said.
He called on the Mundari community and other residents of Terekeka County to contribute ideas that could help bring the violence to an end.
The Commissioner welcomed the briefing and reaffirmed the county administration’s support for dialogue and community led peace efforts.
