Football Assembly in Yei Set for New Tokyo Hotel

(YEI COUNTY) – The Yei Football Association has confirmed that its Ordinary General Assembly will take place on Saturday, 20 September 2025, at the New Tokyo Hotel in Yei.

The meeting which is set to begin at 9:00 in the morning will bring together affiliated clubs, stakeholders and members of the football community to discuss matters linked to the development and governance of football in the area.

In a statement issued by the Office of Media and Communication, the association reminded all clubs to ensure full representation as required by its statutes. Officials said the participation of each member organisation is essential to support decisions that will shape the future of football in Yei.

The agenda is expected to cover key issues including the strengthening of club management, grassroots football development and the role of the association in improving competition standards.

While no financial figures were provided in the announcement, football leaders in South Sudan have in the past raised concerns about limited funding for local clubs and infrastructure.

The assembly is being held at a time when interest in football across South Sudan is growing, with local clubs seeking better structures to compete regionally and nationally.

The State Governor’s Office reported this week that such meetings are vital for setting direction, creating transparency and ensuring all stakeholders have a say in how the sport is managed.
