Moatez Mostafa, to celebrate Egypt’s 73rd National Day in Juba, marking a renewed commitment between the two countries to deepen bilateral cooperation.
The celebration, held at Pyramid Hotel, brought together senior South Sudanese government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and invited guests to honour Egypt’s Revolution Day. The occasion commemorates the establishment of the Republic of Egypt following the 1952 revolution.

South Sudan’s National Minister of Health, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial, attended the event as Guest of Honour. She highlighted the strong ties between Egypt and South Sudan, particularly in key sectors such as health, education and humanitarian assistance. Both parties reiterated their governments’ commitment to continue working together to improve service delivery and regional cooperation.
Governor Mujung described the event as “a symbol of enduring friendship,” stating that Egypt has remained a strategic partner to South Sudan, especially during times of humanitarian crisis and institutional development.
“We look forward to continued cooperation with Egypt in areas of mutual interest,” he said.
Egypt has supported various development efforts in South Sudan over the years, including the training of medical personnel, scholarships for South Sudanese students and humanitarian aid during periods of displacement and flooding.
Ambassador Mostafa reaffirmed Egypt’s ongoing support and interest in strengthening diplomatic relations, calling South Sudan “a brotherly nation with whom we share deep historical and cultural bonds.”
While the event celebrated Egypt’s national history, it also served as a platform to explore future collaboration, particularly in supporting South Sudan’s ongoing peace and recovery process.
