(JUBA) – The Central Equatoria State Caretaker Council of Ministers has unanimously adopted a 14-point policy direction aimed at guiding the state government through the transitional period ahead of the general elections.
The policy was presented by Caretaker Governor Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani during an Ordinary Council sitting in Juba on Thursday.
Governor Jadalla said the caretaker government must maintain institutional continuity, preserve peace and security, deliver essential services and manage public resources responsibly while supporting preparations for the elections.
He stressed the importance of peaceful and credible elections, calling for civic awareness, dialogue and tolerance while discouraging hate speech, intimidation and violence.
The Governor also directed ministries to strengthen service delivery and properly account for public revenue, including Personal Income Tax collections.
His directives also cover agriculture, education, health, local government, roads and infrastructure. Ministries have been tasked with assessing schools and health facilities, addressing farmer-herder conflicts, improving police presence in underserved areas and preventing land grabbing and irregular land demarcation.
The Ministry of Information has also been directed to assess the Equator Broadcasting Corporation and develop a master plan to renovate and operationalise television broadcasting.
Governor Jadalla further ordered ministries to compile verified records of government assets, including land, buildings and vehicles, and refer suspected irregular transactions to the relevant authorities.
He said the caretaker period should be remembered for peace, discipline, accountable leadership and service delivery to the people of Central Equatoria State.
