(Yei) – Yei River County Commissioner Emmanuel Taban Seme visited the construction site of the Kanjoro Stream bridge on Wednesday, inspecting progress on a key project located in the northern part of Yei town. The bridge links the Luperate residential area to parts of Mukuya Payam in neighboring Lainya County.
During the inspection, Commissioner Taban urged engineers to focus on building a strong and reliable bridge that can serve the community for years to come. He emphasized the importance of delivering a quality structure that meets the area’s growing transport needs.
Jurah Festo Nehemiah, Inspector of Roads and Bridges in Yei River County, said the project is moving forward steadily despite delays caused by limited resources. He noted that support from the County Government is helping to push the construction toward completion.
Speaking to the media at the site, Richard Lugala Go’do, Director of the Department of Physical Infrastructure, confirmed that the bridge is in its final phase and is expected to be completed before the end of the month.
Go’do added that once the Kanjoro bridge is finished, construction will begin on the Wuluturu bridge in the southern part of Yei town, continuing the county’s efforts to improve road connectivity.
