(JUBA)– President Salva Kiir Mayardit has met a high-level delegation from the East African Community (EAC), led by Secretary-General Ambassador Stephen Patrick Mbundi, as South Sudan begins national consultations on the proposed EAC Political Confederation.
During the meeting on Thursday, Ambassador Mbundi briefed President Kiir on key regional priorities, including the expansion of trade, infrastructure development, climate change mitigation and efforts to deepen political integration among EAC partner states.
The engagement comes as South Sudan continues to strengthen its participation in regional initiatives aimed at promoting economic growth, cooperation and long-term stability across East Africa.
