CES Government, NPA Strengthens Cooperation

(JUBA) – The Central Equatoria State Caretaker Government and Norwegian People’s Aid, NPA, have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in the state.

The commitment followed a meeting in Juba between Caretaker Governor Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani and an NPA delegation led by Interim Country Director Senada Katiriman, ahead of the organisation’s 40th anniversary in South Sudan.

During the meeting, Katiriman briefed the governor on NPA’s work in areas including health, capacity building, mine action and food security.

She said the organization is ready to continue working with the state government in health and other essential services. She also welcomed the government’s support for humanitarian access in Central Equatoria.

Governor Jadalla commended NPA for its contribution to communities in Central Equatoria and other parts of South Sudan and called for stronger cooperation and an expansion of its activities in the state.

The governor also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to promoting peace, facilitating humanitarian access and supporting conditions for free, fair and credible elections.

He confirmed that he will attend NPA’s forthcoming 40th anniversary celebration.

Norwegian People’s Aid began operations in South Sudan in 1986 and works in areas including mine action, health, food security, capacity building and humanitarian assistance.
