Commissioner Urges Partners to Support Kajo-Keji Hospital

(KAJO-KEJI COUNTY) – The Caretaker Commissioner of Kajo-Keji County, Charles Laku Losio Yensuk, has appealed to development partners and humanitarian organizations to support Kajo-Keji Civil Hospital following the end of Médecins Sans Frontières, MSF Belgium’s intervention at the facility.

The appeal came during the official handover of the hospital by MSF Belgium to the Central Equatoria State Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

Commissioner Laku thanked MSF Belgium for supporting healthcare workers, providing medical services and improving access to essential healthcare for local communities.

He said the hospital remains a critical health facility serving thousands of people, including returnees, internally displaced persons and other vulnerable communities.

The Commissioner called on development partners, humanitarian organizations, faith-based institutions and other stakeholders to support the hospital with essential drugs, medical supplies and equipment, infrastructure rehabilitation and assistance to healthcare personnel.

He stressed that maintaining quality healthcare requires collective responsibility, saying the government alone cannot address all challenges facing the health sector.

Commissioner Laku reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to work with the State Ministry of Health and partners to keep essential medical services available to communities in Kajo-Keji.

He also urged residents to support and protect the hospital, describing strong healthcare institutions as vital to community wellbeing, peace and development.
