(JUBA CITY) -The Central Equatoria State (CES) Artist Association has raised concerns over the lack of adequate infrastructure to support the creative industry in Central Equatoria State. The Borderlines reported.
According to the association, key challenges affecting artists include limited access to entertainment centers, lack of office space, insufficient capacity-building initiatives, weak policy frameworks to guide and protect artistic work, and restricted market opportunities that prevent artists from fully benefiting from their creativity.
The concerns were presented during a meeting held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, between the association and Bush Buse, the State Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports.
In response, the minister acknowledged the issues raised and emphasized the urgent need to strengthen policies that support and protect artists. He further assured the association of the ministry’s commitment to working closely with stakeholders to promote the growth and development of arts and culture across the state.
The engagement marks a step forward in addressing long-standing challenges within the creative sector, as artists continue to call for improved support and investment.
