(Lainya) – The Commissioner of Lainya County, Robert Lasu John Morris, led a civil-military engagement in Limbe Boma on June 15, 2025, aimed at reinforcing peaceful relations between civilians and military forces, as well as enhancing community security and development.
The meeting brought together military officials, local chiefs, community elders, and residents of Limbe Boma. According to community leaders, the area is currently peaceful and stable, with no major incidents of insecurity reported. They credited this calm to joint efforts by civilians and security forces working together to maintain order.
However, Area Acting Commander John Malou noted that while Limbe Boma remains peaceful overall, there have been occasional minor reports of insecurity. He urged local chiefs and village headmen to report any incidents immediately to the nearest military outpost, so that swift and appropriate responses could be taken to prevent escalation.
Commissioner Robert Lasu praised the community and local leadership for their role in maintaining peace. He expressed appreciation for the collaboration between civilian leaders and military personnel, and emphasized that continued cooperation is essential to sustaining security throughout the county.
In his remarks, the Commissioner highlighted the role of mutual trust and communication in fostering strong civil-military relationships. He noted that when the military and the community work together, it creates a safer and more stable environment for all residents.
During the meeting, Commissioner Lasu also shared updates on the county’s ongoing efforts to support education. He announced that scholarships will be made available to residents through the County Education Director. These scholarships will cover various fields of study, and he encouraged young people and adults alike to make use of the opportunity to develop their skills and improve their futures.
The Commissioner’s message was well received by community members, who expressed interest in the scholarship program and support for continued collaboration with local security forces.
