(MOROBO COUNTY) – Morobo County has recorded a boost in coffee production after nearly 6,000 Arabica coffee seedlings were raised and prepared for planting ahead of this year’s first farming season.
The seedlings were secured by the Community Based Organisation, Innovation for Community Development (IFCD), and will be distributed to farmers across the county to promote coffee cultivation.
During a field visit, IFCD official Mr. Isaac Batali encouraged farmers to prepare their land for coffee plantations. He highlighted that coffee has long been a key cash crop in Morobo County and remains an important source of income for households.
Mr. Batali explained that the initiative aims not only to revive coffee farming but also to promote environmentally friendly agricultural practices that support conservation and sustainable land use.
The programme is expected to improve household incomes and strengthen sustainable agriculture across Morobo County, contributing to both economic growth and environmental protection.
