(Pibor) – The Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), Peter Guzulu Maze, has received a donation of three vehicles from the Ask Foundation, aimed at improving the region’s public service delivery. The donation was formally presented on Friday and includes two Toyota Land Cruiser Hardtop 5-Door vehicles and one Land Cruiser Pickup.
According to the Chief Administrator’s office, the donated vehicles will be allocated to the Office of the Chief Administrator, the Peace Advisor, and the Commission of Public Health and HIV & AIDS. The vehicles are expected to enhance the mobility and operational effectiveness of officials working in key sectors.
In a public statement following the donation, Chief Administrator Maze expressed his deep gratitude to the Ask Foundation. He noted the organization’s consistent support for the people of GPAA, particularly during critical public health emergencies. He singled out the foundation’s swift response during recent cholera outbreaks, when it helped deploy medical teams and supply vaccines to the affected communities.
The donation, Maze said, is not only timely but also reflects the foundation’s broader commitment to supporting development in the region. He praised the foundation’s work in providing healthcare services, improving access to clean water, expanding education opportunities, and supporting agricultural development. Maze also commended Ask Foundation’s mission to promote unity and equality across South Sudan, particularly in hard-to-reach and underserved areas.
The vehicles are seen as a practical boost to local governance efforts, especially in a region like Greater Pibor, which faces logistical challenges due to poor roads and limited infrastructure.
Reliable transport will allow local leaders and staff to conduct field missions, deliver health services, and respond more quickly to community needs.
At the time of reporting, the value of the three vehicles was not disclosed, but estimates for Toyota Land Cruiser models in South Sudan currently range between $29,000 to $37,000 USD per vehicle.
The donation ceremony was acknowledged by the GPAA Chief Administrator and documented by the area’s press unit. Officials described the gesture as a symbol of growing partnership between development organizations and local government bodies in South Sudan.
