(JUBA) – Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peace, development, and improved public services following the conclusion of a 12-day working tour across the Greater Yei Corridor.
Speaking during a press conference in Juba on Thursday, Governor Adil briefed journalists and members of the public on the outcomes of his visits to Lainya, Yei River, Morobo counties, and Wonduruba Administrative Payam.
The Governor said the tour provided an opportunity to assess community needs and strengthen engagement with local authorities and residents. He outlined several key priorities discussed during the visit, including improvements in healthcare and education services, rehabilitation of strategic road networks, and support for community-driven development initiatives.
Governor Adil also emphasised the importance of enhancing cross-border cooperation to promote trade, security, and economic growth in the region.
Addressing the security situation, the Governor called on armed groups that remain outside the peace process to lay down their arms and embrace peaceful dialogue. He stressed that lasting peace is essential for sustainable development and the well-being of communities across Central Equatoria State.
With the country’s elections scheduled for December, Governor Adil urged citizens to register and participate peacefully in the democratic process, encouraging voters to exercise their civic rights responsibly.
He reiterated that his government remains focused on delivering peace dividends to the people through improved services, infrastructure development, and strengthened security across the state.
Governor Adil concluded by assuring residents of Greater Yei and the wider Central Equatoria State that their concerns and aspirations would continue to guide government priorities and development efforts.
