About SIHA
The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) is a regional feminist network of over 150 civil society organisations in Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia. SIHA works to advance gender justice and strengthen women’s rights movements across the region.
Background
Digital technology offers opportunities for women’s rights advocacy, but it also exposes women’s organisations in South Sudan to online harassment, intimidation, and other digital threats. Many Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) face technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV), with limited protection and access to justice.
To address these risks, SIHA will hold a three day in person digital security workshop in Juba under the KOMBOA project, targeting 30 women-led organisations from across South Sudan.
