
CES Governor Adil and Interior Minister Aleu and other officials
(JUBA CITY ) -The National minister of Interior, Aleu Ayieny Alieu, has met with Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony to discuss stronger security measures aimed at restoring calm in Juba City.
The meeting took place on Thursday at the Central Equatoria State Secretariat in Juba, marking the minister’s first official visit since assuming office.
Discussions focused on establishing robust security mechanisms to address growing concerns about safety in the capital. Among the key issues raised were criminal gang activities, locally known as “niggas,” the ongoing threat of motorcycle snatchers commonly referred to as “Toronto,” as well as drug abuse and land grabbing.
The leaders also reviewed the performance of security forces operating in Juba and assessed the overall safety situation facing residents.
Both the Minister and the Governor reaffirmed their commitment to restoring law and order, emphasizing the need for coordinated action among security agencies.
They also called on the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities by reporting any suspicious activities.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Inspector General of Police, the Mayor of Juba City Council, the Commissioner of Juba County, and other top security personnel.
Authorities say efforts will continue to ensure improved security and a safer environment for all residents of Juba.
