(JUBA,CENTRAL EQUATORIA) – The Central Equatoria State Security Committee (SSC) convened an ordinary meeting at the State Secretariat to address critical security and administrative challenges facing the state.
The high-level meeting was chaired by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Paulino Lukudu Obede, on behalf of H.E. Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony. Discussions focused on the enforcement of long-standing presidential directives and measures to curb illegal land activities.
Among the key resolutions reached was a firm commitment to the full implementation of the 2017 Presidential Order, which mandates the immediate return of all cattle herders to their places of origin.
The Committee noted that the directive is intended to reduce recurring conflicts between farmers and pastoralists, which have negatively affected food security and communal coexistence in various parts of the state. On the issue of illegal land acquisition, the Committee directed the State Ministry of Housing, Lands, and Public Utilities to take immediate steps to streamline the allocation of plots strictly to individuals with valid legal documentation. This measure aims to safeguard lawful ownership and prevent further land-related disputes. The State Security Committee further described the general security situation across Central Equatoria State as calm and stable. It urged citizens to remain cooperative with law enforcement agencies as the resolutions are implemented, emphasizing that collective cooperation is essential to achieving sustainable peace and stability in the state.Discover more from Access Radio Yei News
