(JUBA) – Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony of Central Equatoria State held a meeting on Thursday at the Juba Field Office with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan Civil Affairs Officer, Mr Victor Fasama.
The discussion focused on the urgent restart of the monthly partners forum, which is intended to strengthen cooperation between the state government, the United Nations, and other partners working in South Sudan.
During the meeting, Mr Fasama confirmed the continued commitment of UNMISS to work closely with the state authorities to support lasting peace. He said the mission was pleased with the governor’s vision for the state, especially in the areas of peace, security and development.
Governor Adil thanked UNMISS for its ongoing support and again stressed the importance of restarting the monthly partners forum. He said the forum would help improve coordination and allow all partners to give regular updates on their activities across the state.
The governor also appealed to UNMISS to increase its support for road rehabilitation by expanding quick impact projects to more areas within the state. He said better roads would support access, movement and community development.
At the close of the meeting, both the state government and UNMISS renewed their commitment to work together to promote peace, unity and infrastructure development in South Sudan.
