OPINION: A Call to Action on the Use of Social Media for Our Youth!

Dear fellow young people, Social media has emerged as a powerful tool that shapes our perspectives, influences our communities, and kindles the flames of positive change. It is crucial that we harness this potential responsibly in our quest for peace, unity, innovation, entrepreneurship and authentic connections that can pave the way for a brighter future for ourselves and our country. Let us commit to using social media as a platform to share ideas and create opportunities that foster creativity and inspire hope. We have the power to lift one another up, rather than succumb to the temptations of spreading hatred, violence, division, or misinformation. Every post, comment, video, and message we share carries weight—capable of either bringing people together or igniting conflict. I urge you all to reject the misuse of social media. Let us steer clear of harmful content that breeds resentment and disunity. Instead, we should take on the mantle of ambassadors for peace, respect, and progress. Together, we can use our voices to promote dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence within our communities. Let’s work collectively to connect with one another, fulfill our potential, foster innovation, and build a peaceful and united society.
