Atlabara FC Appoints New Coach on Three Year Deal

(YEI COUNTY) – Atlabara FC Yei has confirmed the appointment of Daniel Dara Sebit, widely known by his nickname “Fergie,” as the club’s new head coach on a three year contract.

The 30 year old coach, born in 1995, brings both energy and experience to the role, having developed his career across South Sudan and Uganda over the past decade.

Club officials say they are confident he has the potential to secure silverware and further strengthen the team’s profile in Greater Yei.

Dara began his coaching career in 2014 in his home village of Sanja-Asiri. Two years later, he relocated to Imvepi Refugee Settlement in Uganda’s West Nile region due to the crisis in South Sudan. Despite these challenges, he continued to pursue his ambition in football management.

In 2018, Dara joined Al-Merick Football Club in Uganda as an assistant coach, a position he held for one season. He then established his own side, Shining Stars Football Club, in 2020. Under his leadership, Shining Stars won five trophies and earned promotion from the Uganda Fifth Division to the Fourth Division after being crowned champions of Terego District.

At the same time, Dara also coached Okuyu United Football Club in Yumbe District for two seasons. He guided the team to the league playoffs on both occasions, reaching the semifinals each time.

Dara is a holder of both a Beginner’s Certificate and a CAF D Coaching Certificate. He is also continuing his professional development through a course with Scout Foundation, a European organisation that provides football training across Africa.

Atlabara FC Yei said in an online statement that the decision to appoint Dara is part of its wider strategy to nurture young talent in football management and strengthen local capacity.

The club expressed belief that his energy, vision and winning mentality will prove vital in the coming seasons.
