(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – Yei River County has officially welcomed its newly appointed Executive Director, Hillary Lokudu, with local leaders calling for unity, improved service delivery and accelerated development across the county.
Speaking during a reception ceremony at the county headquarters on Monday, Commissioner Samuel Henry Malimbo urged the new administration to serve the people with dedication, professionalism, and integrity. He said security in the county has significantly improved due to the efforts of security agencies and called for continued collaboration in maintaining peace and stability.
The commissioner also emphasized the need for infrastructure development, including the construction of bridges and other public facilities to improve connectivity and service delivery.
In his remarks, Hillary Lokudu thanked the county leadership and residents for the warm welcome and pledged to lead with transparency, dignity, and commitment. He encouraged citizens and public servants to freely share ideas and recommendations aimed at improving services for the people.
Religious leaders also appealed for servant leadership. Father Joseph Arike, Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Yei, and Bishop Levi Marandulu Yopete of the ECSS Diocese of Yei called on county officials to lead with faith, humility, love and cooperation.
The ceremony marked the beginning of Mr. Lokudu’s tenure and reaffirmed the county’s commitment to strengthening governance, development and public service delivery.
