(RUBKONA COUNTY) – The Ministry of Health in Unity State has successfully continued its emergency cholera vaccination campaign, now on its second day in Rubkona County.
Under the leadership of Minister Jal Puok Nhial, field teams led by Dor Gai Patai from the County Health Department are conducting vaccinations, supportive supervision, and mop-up activities to ensure no eligible individual is missed.
Vaccination sites have been set up across Bentiu Town, Rubkotna Town, Bentiu IDP Camps, and Budang-Roriak. Health officials emphasised that the cholera vaccine is safe, effective, and the best protection against the ongoing outbreak.
Residents who have not yet received the vaccine are urged to visit their nearest vaccination points.
The Ministry acknowledged the support of partners including WHO, UNICEF, GOAL, IRC, Concern Worldwide, and MSF, whose collaboration has been essential in reaching communities and ensuring the campaign runs smoothly.
Authorities said the campaign is part of a wider effort to safeguard public health and prevent further spread of cholera in Unity State.
