(TEREKEKA COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Terekeka County, Emmanuel Loku Lodu, has expressed appreciation to the South Sudan Doctors Union, the Ministry of Health of Central Equatoria State and the state governor for providing free medical services to residents of Terekeka County.
In a statement dated 25th January 2026, the commissioner thanked Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, the state minister of health and members of the South Sudan Doctors Union for supporting a free medical outreach at Terekeka Main Hospital.
According to the county administration, the free medical services were provided between 13th and 25th January 2026 and benefited a wide range of patients from across the county.
The services included treatment for children, malaria care and surgical procedures, which county officials said had a significant impact on the health of local communities.
Commissioner Loku said the arrival of the medical teams came at a time of great need and helped to ease pressure on local health services. He noted that many patients were able to access care that would otherwise have been difficult to obtain.
He also praised the dedication and professionalism of the doctors and medical staff, saying they worked with humility and commitment despite challenging conditions. He described their efforts as an example of service to humanity and a demonstration of national responsibility.
The commissioner said the county administration and residents were grateful for the support and commitment shown by the medical teams. He added that such initiatives contribute to improving access to health care and strengthening trust between communities and health institutions.
Terekeka County officials said they hope similar health support programmes will continue in the future to improve the wellbeing of people across the county and the wider Central Equatoria State.
