(YEI RIVER COUNTY) -The Commissioner of Yei River County, Samuel Henry Malimbo, has expressed deep condolences following the tragic plane crash in Luri, Juba County that claimed the lives of all passengers on board.
In a statement issued after the incident, Malimbo said he received news of the crash involving an aircraft operated by Citylink Aviation Company with “profound sadness and a heavy heart.” The plane had been en route from Yei River County to Juba when it crashed early Monday morning in the Luri area, leaving no survivors.
The commissioner noted that the tragedy has not only affected the families of the victims but also the wider communities of Yei River County and Central Equatoria State.
He also acknowledged the role of the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSCAA), expressing hope that ongoing investigations will swiftly determine the cause of the crash.
“On behalf of the people of Yei and the county government, I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones,” Malimbo said.
Malimbo concluded by offering prayers for the victims and their families, urging them to remain strong during the difficult time and wishing eternal peace for those who lost their lives.
