(JUBA) – Members of the Juba Parliamentary Caucus in the State Transitional Legislative Assembly have pledged full support to the newly appointed Governor of Central Equatoria State, Lt. Gen. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel.
The pledge was made during a formal meeting on Friday, led by Hon. Prof. Paul Lodu Bureng, who chairs the Caucus.
Governor Mujung, who was recently appointed to the position by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, welcomed the lawmakers’ visit and underlined the need for stronger cooperation between the State and National Assemblies.
According to the Governor, such collaboration is essential to address ongoing challenges in Central Equatoria State, including security, infrastructure, and public service delivery.
Prof. Lodu expressed appreciation for President Kiir’s decision to appoint Lt. Gen. Mujung, calling it a timely move to help restore unity and stability in the region. He assured the Governor that all Caucus members stand united behind him and are ready to work hand in hand with the State’s executive to promote peace and development.
“All of us are behind the Governor and will support him. Our collective efforts will help bring peace and strengthen unity among the sons and daughters of Central Equatoria State,” said Hon. Prof. Lodu during the meeting.
Support from legislators is seen as a strong political boost for Governor Mujung, who faces the immediate task of steering the state through economic and security hardships.
