
Displaced Mirikiyo Residents Receive Food Aid as Security Restored in Juba County/PHOTO CREDITS: County Press
(JUBA COUNTY) – Displaced residents from Mirikiyo Boma in Rokon Payam, Juba County, have received emergency food assistance following recent security incidents in the area.
Addressing the affected community, Hon. Angelo Daya, Advisor on Security and Peace, delivered a message of sympathy from H.E. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, Governor of Central Equatoria State.
He told residents that security has been restored and urged displaced families to return home, saying their safety is guaranteed. He said the state government has committed full support and that those responsible for the criminal acts will be arrested and brought before the law. He also encouraged residents to return in time to prepare for the farming season.
Hon. Emmanuel Tete Ezbon, Commissioner of Juba County, praised the Governor for his support and close follow up on the incident. He asked the public to avoid rumours and misinformation and repeated the call for displaced residents to return peacefully to their homes.
He instructed the Director of Rokon Payam to move the Payam administrative office back to Mirikiyo Boma as normal life resumes.
The Commissioner confirmed that emergency food assistance had been distributed and said government support would continue. He said security would be ensured through the deployment of organised forces, as confirmed by the Brigade Commander in the area.
He also announced that trucks would be provided to help transport displaced residents back to their homes on Wednesday, 28 January 2026.
Speaking in a show of cooperation between neighbouring areas, Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Loku Lodu, Commissioner of Terekeka County, called for forgiveness, unity and peaceful coexistence.
He urged law enforcement agencies to strictly apply the law to protect civilians and ensure accountability for those involved in criminal acts. He pledged cooperation with Juba County authorities to strengthen security and encouraged displaced people to return home.
Mr. David Roja Michael, Director of Rokon Payam, called on cattle herders to move their livestock back to their places of origin so residents can resume normal activities. He urged displaced families to return home and protect their property.
The assistance and security assurances come as authorities in Central Equatoria State seek to stabilise affected communities and support recovery in Juba County.
