(OTOGO PAYAM, YEI RIVER COUNTY) -The communities of Logo and Goja bomas in Otogo Payam have begun a three-day youth peace dialogue in Yei Town Payam, bringing together 30 young people from the two areas of Yei River County.
The peace dialogue is aimed at promoting peaceful co-existence and solutions to local issues affecting relations between the two communities.
Speaking to Access Radio on Wednesday afternoon, the Peace Building Officer for Malteser International Yei Field Office, Drich Pascal Wani, said the initiative followed concerns raised by the Otogo Peace Committee about emerging issues between youth from the two communities.
“So, we said before the issues escalate to a level that is unmanageable, we have to bring them together. They are here for a dialogue, and the dialogue will take three days from 25th to 27th February 2026,” he explained.
Wani emphasized that peace dialogue remains the most effective way to achieve peaceful resolutions that benefit both communities without causing harm.
The dialogue is being facilitated by the Retired Episcopal Church Bishop of Yei Immanuel Cathedral, Hillary Luwate Adeba.
Earlier this week, Yei River County Commissioner Emmanuel Taban Seme encouraged communities across the county to emulate the peaceful dialogues set by the Tokori Boma–Lasu Payam as the best option to address grass root issues affecting local communities.
